Tulum cenote you will fall in love with

Booking a tour at an animal sanctuary is definitely not the first option that will come to your mind when you are deciding which cenote to visit in Quintana Roo.

Understandable. Akumal Monkey Sanctuary is not heavily focusing on promoting the cenote itself. But that's the beauty of it. The majority of people come to look at monkeys, hold a parrot, and add some entertainment to their kids' vacation. Which means that most of the time, there's no one at the cenote. So, if you are lucky, you can easily have the cenote all to yourself!

This is what happened to me on this trip, and it was one of the main highlights of my Tulum vacation. Cenote Ma'ax feels way more like an authentic cenote experience than some of the popular spots in the areas where they bring buses of tourists every hour.

It is as close to a true nature experience as it gets. Hey, even bats live there comfortably!
